Trees for Pittsburgh
Trees are a staple of our society. Not only are they tall, beautiful beings of nature, they are also vital to the survival of humans and the planet. The brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon Pennsylvania Gamma firmly believe that everyone person is obligated to do whatever they can do protect and support our planet, no matter how small his or her act might be. Therefore, we have decided to dedicate a day this semester to planting trees around Pittsburgh in an effort to make both our city and our planet a greener place.
Unfortunately, nothing is free, including trees, and it will cost us money to acquire the seeds and to plant them. Luckily, tree seeds are not very expensive, and even a small amount of money is enough for us to plant a dozen trees. Therefore, any support you are willing to give to our cause would be greatly appreciated by us and the city. You can be assured that your donations will be going to a fantastic cause that will help make our planet a little better for years to come.
This project is not just for the chapter, however. If you are a parent, alumni, student, or just a lover of trees, we invite you not only to donate, but to come participate in the tree planting with us. We plan on having lots of seeds, so every extra set of hands will be greatly appreciated! We do not have details of the exact date or time yet, but we will post them as soon as we know them.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh
Our Philanthropy, Big Brothers Big Sisters, is a wonderful organization that provides mentoring to children who grow up in single parent families and/or low-income households. Of course, we hold scheduled philanthropy events for this organization, however we will support donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters at any time of the year.
